Purpose
To encourage innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship within the YubiKey developer's community.
For YubiKey solution providers
The contest is open for any individual, organization or corporation who wants to promote a YubiKey solution, software application, service or development tool.
The jury will judge based on the following criteria:
- User experience
- Scalability
- Quality and stability
- Innovative step
- Security
The prize
All Wiki solution providers will be rewarded with 3 free YubiKeys.
Applicants who send in a short video clip will be rewarded with 5 special edition and new design YubiKeys.
Three YubiKings winners will be featured in Security Now! Podcast, with more than 100,000 global listeners, mainly Internet security professionals. The three YubiKings will also be awarded with 5 special edition YubiKeys and invited to promote their winning solutions in Yubico booth at RSA Conference with conference fee, travel expenses (up to $1,000 USD) and hotel expenses paid by Yubico. How to vote
Go to each entries wiki page and find the YubiKing vote field. You may vote for any number of projects, but you can only vote once for a particular entry.
If you have configured your YubiKey to a static password or are using an application not connected to the Yubico hosted server, please send an email with the name of your favorite solution to yubiking@yubico.com.
How to apply
Just post your YubiKey solution on the Wiki (online service, software application or development tool). Do not forget to add a link on “More information” including your website with contact information or email and you will automatically be a YubiKing applicant.
The jury
A YubiKey polling system will soon be added to this Wiki enabling all Yubico Wiki members to vote on their favourite YubiKey application. Wiki members cast 50% of the votes. The remaining 50% will be led by Steve Gibson, Security Now! podcaster.

- Yubico launches YubiKey applications Wiki where all current and future YubiKey applications will be presented and automatically nominated for the YubiKing award.
- February 27-March 13
- Voting open for all YubiKey users and YubiKing jury on the Wiki.
- March 19
- Announcement of the three YubiKings in Security Now! Podcast.
- April 20-24
- The three YubiKings invited to RSA conference, San Francisco, CA.
FAQ
Q: In reading the YubiKing contest rules I'm a bit confused by what might constitute a valid entry. Is Yubico looking for original software works to be submitted by the developer/organization? Are you looking for users favorite applications to use with the Yubikey? Do you want ideas for non-existent products/services/use case scenarios for the Yubikey?
A: Any software, application, or online service that brings value and works well with the YubiKey is a valid entry. The application or service should be possibly to test for anyone that owns a YubiKey. We are not looking for entries that is only an idea - but see YubiKeyIdeas.
Q: What if a winning project has more than one member? How many people from each project will receive invitations to the RSA conference?
A: Yubico will only pay the expenses for one person per application. Only one person per application will have a dedicated space in Yubico's booth.
Q: For those who contributed wiki solutions and optionally videos, when will the gift Yubikeys be sent out?
