Many organizations utilize the powerful and flexible authentication mechanism provided by the RADIUS protocol. A RADIUS server combined with an industry standard VPN or SSL based VPN solution can provide a robust, secure and easy to configure remote access solution for an organization. However, in all remote access scenarios a two factor authentication is highly recommended.

RADIUS on premise project enhances the basic RADIUS authentication with YubiKey two factor authentication functionality. It can be used as is but should be considered proof-of-concept/reference implementation for developers who want to build their own, more complete RADIUS solution using YubiKey. Implementation of this solution will not require any changes to the corporate AD/LDAP schema which is an important factor for most organizations.
